The Staunton Bulldogs are looking to be much improved heading into this season with several kids returning to the lineup along with a transfer that will bring some size and experience to the roster.

Head coach Troy Redfern looks to see his club post a better won-loss mark than last season, a campaign that saw them go just 3-24 overall without a league victory.

The Bulldogs have a double-digit returning starter who could reach 1,000-points by the end of his senior season.

Six-foot guard Brady Kinder was just over 10 points a night for Staunton as a junior.

Coach Redfern mentioned 6-foot-5 sophomore Ethan Booth who played a lot as a freshman.

Six-foot-seven junior Dylan Hemann transferred into the program from nearby Litchfield and he should contribute immediately. He started for the Purple Panthers a year ago.

Coach Redfern likes the look of an incoming freshman Cylis Cox, a 6-foot guard.

Staunton also has a three year starter with 6-foot junior Griffin Bianco along with 5-foot-9 junior Lucas Sievers.

Andrew Novack, a 6-foot senior, played a lot of minutes for the Bulldogs last season and this mentor also mentioned 5-foot-10 sophomore Devin Ray.

“We will be much improved but are still young overall,” said Coach Redfern. “Kinder and Hemann will need to score some and Cox will need to be able to handle playing varsity as a freshman.”

OUTLOOK – This team actually will have some size in the paint with Hemann and the guards look to be improved. Cox, as a freshman, will have a lot to do with the success of this squad this season.
