CRAB ORCHARD 73, THOMPSONVILLE 39
The second seeded Trojans crushed fellow GEC team Thompsonville
in their opener of the S-V Regional.
Coach Jon Brown's team improved to 27-3 on the season with the
lopsided win behind four players netting double-figures.
Ben Kissing – a 6-foot-5 junior center – topped
the Trojans' scoring parade with 17-points while Drew Johnson
hit for 15.
Johnson scored 10 of his points in the opening quarter as Crab
Orchard roared out to an 18-6 lead.
Dylan Hutson and Brandon Boester chipped in 12 and 10 points
respectively.
Thompsonville saw its season end with Kaleb Castello and Ryan
Darnell leading the Tigers (4-17) with seven points each. |
CHRISTOPHER 53, ELVERADO 46
The Bearcats picked up a regional win over the Falcons on Tuesday
night in come-from-behind fashion as Kolton Pedigo scored 15-points
and Devin Austill added 13 for the Cats as they rallied from
an early deficit by outscoring Elverado 31-20 in the second
half.
Christopher improved to 12-13 on the season and will face Crab
Orchard on Thursday night.
Elverado saw its season end at 4-18. |

GREENVILLE
CLASS 2A REGIONAL
PANA 61, HILLSBORO 56
The Panthers survived a scare to advance to the title game of
the regional behind 14-points from Mitchell Beyers and 11-points
each from Lucas Willson and Jared McMillen.
Hillsboro (10-18) saw its season come to a close despite 20-points
from Matt DeLuka.
SPARTA CLASS 2A REGIONAL
SPARTA 49, RED BUD 36
The Bulldogs defended their home turf with an opening round
win over the Musketeers with 6-foot-5 senior center Wes Kiner
leading the way with 14-points.
Austin Peck added 10-points for Sparta who will now play top-seed
Du Quoin on Wednesday night.
Red Bud saw its season end at 9-19 after hitting just 6-of-15
free throws.
Jacob Kueker topped the Musketeers with 10-points. |

CLASS 1A REGIONAL
MERIDIAN 88, SHAWNEE 31
Five Bobcats hit for double-figures in the rout of the Redskins
in the opening game at Goreville on Tuesday night.
Coach Jeff Mandrell's club was led by 18-points from senior
Brent Kennedy.
Daryl Rayford chipped in 17 while Meridian (24-5) got 12-points
from Cameron Ballard and 10-points each from Jerry Johnson and
Joshua Jones.
Shawnee (3-20) was led by Andrew Livesay with nine points.
Meridian rolled out to a 33-4 lead at the end of one quarter
and played reserves for most of the contest.
EGYPTIAN 89, CENTURY 43
The Pharaohs continued their strong play in beating the Centurions
in a contest in which they led 22-7 after one quarter and 45-13
at the half.
DeVante Price and Marcus Marable topped Coach Matt Mandrell's
team with 16-points each while Darmez Nelson added 15.
Javel Scott led Century (4-23) with 10-points. |

COUNTY CLASS 1A REGIONAL
CARRIER MILLS 59, JOPPA 44
The Wildcats continued their hopes of winning a third consecutive
regional title with a win over Joppa Tuesday night.
Coach Mark Motsinger's team was led by Colin Crim with 14-points
while Cameron Taborn added 11.
Jake Wolfe was the game's top scorer with 15-points for Trebor
Hill's team which ended its season at 7-16.
HARDIN COUNTY 63, ELDORADO 62
Austin German scored on a drive to the basket as time expired
as the Cougars shocked the Eagles at home Tuesday night.
German topped the Hardin County (13-14) list with 23-points
while teammate Joe McClenahan added 17.
Cody Johnston topped Eldorado (12-17) with 26-points.
The Cougars were sharp from the foul line with a 19-of-25 effort
while the Eagles were just 7-of-14 from the stripe. |

Chester won a high scoring shootout behind 40-points from Zach
Lochhead and 24-points from Justin Woodward.
The Yellow Jackets hit 16-of-22 free throws in the fourth quarter
to eliminate the Pirates.
Mike Wuelling scored 28-points for Valmeyer (9-15).

NEOGA CLASS 1A REGIONAL
DIETERICH 71, CUMBERLAND 60
The Movin Maroons moved into the regional semifinals with a
win over the Pirates on Tuesday night with Taran Bonhoff leading
the way for Dieterich with 19-points while Sam Thoele added
15. Three other players hit for double-figures for Coach Jamie
VanScyoc's squad that improved to 14-11 on the season.
Dalton Hinterscher added 12-points while Derek Cox and Seth
Flach scored 11 apiece.
Cumberland (10-17) saw its season end despite 21-points from
Clint Carlen.
BEECHER CITY 78, MARTINSVILLE 67
The Eagles advanced with a win over the Blue Streaks as Luke
Levitt led a balanced score attack with 16-points – all
coming in the first half.
Austin Miley added 15-points while Cole Ohnesorge chipped in
14.
Kyle Mulkins led the Streaks with 24-points. |
