BREESE CENTRAL 60, MASSAC COUNTY 33
The Cougars left little doubt of the outcome on Tuesday night as they led 16-4 at the end of the first quarter and closed the game with 17-6 fourth quarter for the easy win.

The state's top-ranked team was led by senior Zane Schrage with 18-points as 10-different players scored for Coach Jeremy Shubert.

The Cougars are now 32-2 with the victory, punching their ticket to Friday night's sectional title game against the winner of Wednesday night's Benton vs. Wesclin matchup.

Kaden Rakers added seven-points in the win while Colten Arnold hit a pair of first quarter 3-pointers and finished with six.

Seniors Nick Helmink and Jake Robke scored nine and seven-points respectively while senior guard Mason Shubert added six.

Massac County closed their season at 22-10 after the defeat.

Coach Joe Hosman's club was led by senior Hunter Box with 10-points and classmate Isaac Hosman scored nine.

The Wolves unexpected run in the postseason, which resulted in a regional title win Friday, ended on Tuesday night with a loss to the Spartans at the Shelbyville Sectional.

Coach Phil Leib saw his club fall behind early as the season ended at 17-14.

The Wolves were led by 6-4 senior Neil Young with 13-points.

Five-ten senior guard Lawson Spicer (11) and sophomore Kyler Dennis (nine) added points in the defeat.

Six-two senior Luke Landrus paced SJO with 22-points and senior Logan Smith added 18 for the now 27-6 Spartans.

The Explorers moved into the sectional title game on Friday night with a win over the Cardinals at the 2A Beardstown Sectional semifinals.

With an IHSA shift from past seasons Coach Cody Best's bunch got to go north through the Springfield Super-Sectional and are now a victory away from the Elite Eight.

The Explorers are now 26-8 and have won 9-of-10 after Tuesday's victory.

Six-four senior Jaden Rochester netted 20-points for Alton Marquette in the win while 6-1 classmate Sean Williams added 14.

Braden Kline, a 6-3 senior, scored 11-points for the Explorers as they reached the sectional finals for the first time since 2019.

Marquette raced out to a 26-12 halftime lead and cruised home for the win.

The Trojans' splendid season came to a halt on Tuesday night as they fell to the Purple Riders.

Coach Jaxon Helm's team was outscored 17-8 in the fourth quarter as they finished with a school record 30-4 mark.

Nathaniel Marlow, a 6-2 sophomore, led the Trojans with 23-points and senior Nikkos Ulm ended up with 10.

Arcola (27-6) was led by 5-11 junior guard Tanner Thomas with 18-points.

Six-three senior Jackson Miller added 14-points and senior Geradrdo Alanis scored 11.

The Purple Riders hit 8-of-10 fourth quarter free throws to hold off Webber.

Coach Greg Gisinger's club, which upset top-ranked Effingham St. Anthony last week, will play the winner of the Tuscola vs. Christ Our Rock Lutheran Wednesday night semifinal.

The Purple Riders haven't won a sectional title in boy's basketball since 1963.
