ABV ALL-SOUTH TEAMS - 2006-07

The All-South Teams are always tough to choose. Inevitably someone will be left off of the squad who may have been worthy and I will get the usual amount of emails concerning the omissions. Some of the player from teams in the Charleston and Jacksonville Supers aren't in the actual ABV coverage areas but are eligible. There are more players listed in the Carbondale Supersectional Area because there are more ABV teams in that Super than the other two. Short of just putting everyone on the list - there are certain guidelines that I follow:
1. No team - no matter how skilled - will have more than two representatives on these teams.
2. Not every team is represented.
3. Senior players get chosen over underclassmen in the case of close calls, especially concerning teammates.
4. Eleven players are named to the first team (Ten + POY) . All players are listed in alphabetical order.
All of these kids deserve recognition as some of the best players in the state.

Editor's Note - As it turns out, there were a couple of mistakes made on my Carbondale list that were pointed out to me. Since this is my website and I do this all myself I will take the full blame. There were three players chosen from Nashville where there should have been just two. I will not pick on any of those kids and remove them from the list. Also one player was left off the list by mistake. Instead of making excuses I went ahead and added him to the list. This All-South Team listing is meant to honor the kids that work hard all season long. It isn't supposed to be fuel for people to bad mouth myself or these kids. I received some not-so-pleasant emails over my lists. I didn't just throw this together on a whim. When deserving kids are left off of the list it isn't on purpose. Mistakes are sometimes made. Unfortunately many readers feel the need to criticize. However that is ok. I would rather them take it out on me than to criticize these young men. JB
