ABV PRESEASON RANKINGS - NOVEMBER 23, 2010

The Rankings will not be updated until January. The 2009-10 final record is in parenthesis.
The Supersectional sites have changed to West Frankfort and Salem this season. The rankings are based on last season's set up of the postseason. Some of these teams could change directions for the post season in 2010-11. Those updates will be taken into consideration when the rankings are updated following holiday tournament play.
In honor of a couple of good kids who might be lost for the season ABV uses photos of Logan Thies of Trico and Jake Hoffman of Red Bud on this page. ABV wishes them both a speedy recovery.
Carbondale Supersectional Area "Top Ten" Class 1A Rankings
1. WOODLAWN (26-6)
The Cardinals know the way to the Supersectional. Verhines and Wiggs are veteran leaders.

Despite Thies injury the Pioneers will be heard from late.
3. GOREVILLE (22-8)
Blackcats have a lot of intangibles including a deep bench.
4. MERIDIAN (29-2)
Starting five is as good as any. But the bench will need to step up.
5. OKAWVILLE (17-13)
If Rockets' young backcourt continues to improve - watch out.

Coach Hanson's club lost a lot but return a good group.

These Blue Devils have everyone back plus a key transfer.

The Warriors can score but the defensive end has been a recent problem.

The Trojans have two good juniors back but the bench looks thin.

A lot of athletic talent and one of the best junior's in the South.
