The Bulldogs won yet another regional title behind 24-points from senior forward Drew Gibson as the gradually pulled away from the pesky Bison to improve to 24-5 on the year.

Adam Levitt added 12-points for St. Anthony as they jumped out to a 22-12 first quarter lead and never were headed as they now move into the Nokomis Sectional semifinals against Altamont, a 62-54 winner over Nokomis at the Altamont Regional final.

Grayville (10-17) saw the four-year prep career of 6-foot-3 senior Kase Robinson come to a close.

Robinson, who is over 1,800 career points, finished with 21-points to lead the Bison.

The Cardinals, who were seeded seventh in the sub-sectional, won their eighth regional title in the last ten seasons with an overtime win over Midland Trail Conference rival Trojans.

Blake Wollerman, a 5-foot-9 senior guard, topped the Cardinals with 17-points while freshman Blake McKay added 11.

Woodlawn, who struggled with a young team learning the ropes in 2016-17, took home the hardware by beating rivals Waltonville and Webber in succession.

Webber (17-12) was paced by Dalton Hart with 14-points.

The Cardinals (15-14) rallied from six-points down to force overtime and then hit 7-of-10 from the foul line in the extra session for the regional crown.

GALLATIN COUNTY 74, CAIRO 64
Senior guard Seth Ramsey poured in 40-points as the Hawks outlasted top-seeded Cairo in the Hardin County Regional final.

Ramsey took advantage of foul issues and bench technicals as he hit 22-of-29 free throws in the win, the first title since 2013 for the program.

Sophomore Audie Goebel added 16-points for the 20-8 Hawks, who will now face Christopher Tuesday night at the Norris City-Omaha-Enfield Sectional next week.

Gallatin County rode the emotions of the death of long-time Hawks sports fixture Robert "Radar" Patton, whose funeral was held at the school just hours before tipoff of the regional final, to the championship.

The Pilots (14-13) were led by senior Dave Taylor with 22-points.

Cairo had chances to win the regional but they squandered too many chances at the foul line as they were just 14-of-32 from the stripe.

Freshman Fairleigh Ward added 13-points for the Pilots in defeat.

All-stater Noah Frederking notched 29-points as the top-ranked Rockets rolled to an easy win over the Meteors to win the regional title.

Frederking nailed five 3-pointers as Okawville hit 12 3's as a team.

A 26-11 second quarter put the Rockets up 45-21 at halftime.

Senior guard Josh Madrid added 11-points for the now 28-3 Rockets.

Marissa-Coulterville (17-11) was paced by senior guard Kyle Smith with 34-points.

Smith nailed six 3-pointers in his final prep basketball game for Coach Scott Wine.

M-C outscored the Rockets 29-17 in the fourth quarter to make the final score a bit closer, but the outcome wasn't in doubt.

Coach Joe Eddy's Warriors edged the Raiders on Friday night to win the Bethany Okaw Valley Regional title.

This is the fourth regional championship in a row for Patoka (28-3) who were led in scoring by the same two players who have led the way to the recent successful run in postseason play.

Senior guard Jered Cain scored 28-points while classmate 6-foot-5 forward Garrett Belcher added 25-points as Patoka moves to the Nokomis Sectional to face Dieterich on Wednesday night.

Cain scored 12 of his points in the fourth quarter as the Warriors held off Central A&M.

Keaton Garner, a 5-foot-8 senior guard, paced the Raiders with 20-points in the loss (17-11).

The Aces won their second consecutive regional title by breaking open a close game with a big second half to advance to a Wednesday night showdown with Teutopolis at the West Frankfort Sectional.

Six-foot-eight junior forward Jackson Marcotte poured home 25-points for the 24-4 Golden Aces, who outgunned the Lions 26-7 in the third quarter after leading just 35-30 at intermission.

Braden Stiff and Brett Doan added 16 and 14-points respectively while Justin Carpenter tossed in 12.

Six-foot-one senior Bobby Brake and 6-foot sophomore Cade Rivers led the Lions (20-7) with 10-points each.

The Aces held Lions leading scoring Nathaniel Schmittler to just four-points.

The Wooden Shoes pummeled the host Panthers to win yet another regional championship for the storied program.

Coach Jason Hanson saw his club jump out to a 14-4 first quarter lead and never let up in the domination of the hosts.

Six-foot-four senior Mitch Hardiek, an all-state candidate, posted 26-points in the victory while Lucas Deters added 10-points.

Ten different T-Town players scored in the rout as the Wooden Shoes improved to 27-3 on the season.

Six-foot-three senior Kyle Lynch closed out his hardwood career with 17-points.

Teutopolis led 32-12 at halftime and were never threatened.

The Hornets made the long trip to Carlinville twice this week and emerged as regional champs with two blowout wins.

Coach Brad Weathers' team will host Pinckneyville on Tuesday night after shellacking the Birds on Friday night behind their usual stingy defense that allowed only 11 made field goals.

Nashville (19-12) was topped by Ryan Brink with 15-points and Brogan Kemp with 11.

Hayden Heggemeier added nine-points to the totals as the Hornets cruised to the championship.

Coach Jason Darr saw his club's season close at 18-10 despite 11-points from 6-foot-6 senior Colin Baumgartner.
