The Panthers have advanced to the super-sectional with a come-from-behind win at home behind 18 points from senior Karsen Konkel as Coach Bob Waggoner's team improved to 28-6 by outscoring the Cougars 15-8 in the fourth quarter.

Konkel, a 6-6 senior, nailed down 4-of-4 free throws in the second half.

Senior Pearson Launius and sophomore A.J. Keith added eight points each.

Coach Jeremy Shubert and his squad saw the season close at 29-5.

Junior Zane Schrage scored 14 and senior Cody Dickshot 12 topped the scoring for Central.

The Panthers will play Teutopolis on Monday night at 8 pm at the Carbondale Super-Sectional.

T-Town beat Lawrenceville, 61-54 to win the 2A Newton Sectional.

The Roderic Gatewood, Jr. story will now have another chapter as the Bobcats advance to their first super-sectional since 2015 with the win over the Trojans.

The 5-9 senior netted 38 points on Friday night as his club rallied from 10 points down in the third quarter for the victory and a trip to SIU Arena on Monday night.

The senior guard nailed down eight 3-pointers in the victory.

Six-two junior Cole Kaufman added 14 points for Coach David Davis group who are now a win from making the Final Four.

The Bobcats will face Tuscola at 6 pm on Monday. The Warriors won the 1A Altamont Sectional 72-68 in four overtimes.

Webber Township and head coach Brad Beaty closed the book on their season at 23-12.

Six-two freshman Nathaniel Marlow scored 24 points and 6-8 senior Hunter Danberry added 19.

The Hawks and head coach Dennis Rueter find themselves back in the super-sectional after seven year hiatus with a victory over the Saints on Friday.

Junior Gavin Kesler scored 22 points on Friday night and senior guard Kaden Augustine added 17 points as Gibault improved to 29-7.

Springfield Calvary closed the campaign at 27-8.

Freshman Luke Bradford led the Saints with 16 points while Coach Tives Gardner got 12 and 11 points from junior Conner Brown and senior Ben Crowder.

The Hawks will face Glasford Illini Central, a 54-46 winner over Camp Point Central in the sectional final at Bushnell-Prairie City.
