Tuscola, Breese Central, Teutopolis win Wednesday.
TUSCOLA 48, EFFINGHAM ST. ANTHONY 45
For the second consecutive postseason, the Warriors eliminated the Bulldogs in the 1A sectional semifinals.

Coach Justin Bozarth and his club will tackle Altamont in the 1A Altamont Sectional final on Friday night after getting 15 points from 5-8 sophomore Kam Sweetnam, 14 points from 6-3 junior Jordan Quinn and 12 points from 5-9 junior Josiah Hortin.

The Warriors nailed down 12-of-16 free throws, with Hortin hitting 5-of-5 in the fourth quarter as they held off St. Anthony.

The Bulldogs saw their campaign close at 22-13 for head coach Cody Rincker with a loss at home.

Six-foot junior Collin Westendorf scored a game best 22 points for the Bulldogs but no other teammate had double-digits in scoring.

The Warriors will play host Altamont for the sectional title on Friday in a rematch from a game played at Altamont on February 11 where Tuscola won 64-38.

BREESE CENTRAL 56, CARTERVILLE 33
The Cougars advanced to their second consecutive sectional title game with a win over the Lions in which they out scored Carterville 32-11 in the second half.

Coach Jeremy Shubert's club held the Lions to two points in the fourth quarter to improve to 29-4 on the season.

Cody Dickshot led the Cougars with 20 points and Chase Lewis added 13 for Central.

Junior guard Mason Shubert (eight) and Ty Kueper (six) were part of the second half scoring that pushed the club into the sectional final.

The Cougars were 13-of-16 from the foul line, 8-of-11 in the final eight minutes as they will now face Pinckneyville on Friday night for a spot in the super-sectional.

Carterville (26-7) ended its season being led by senior guard Caden Hawkins with 15 points and senior Cade Lustenberger with nine.

The Wooden Shoes held AM to just five first half points as they rolled into the sectional championship game on Friday with a lopsided win Wednesday night.

Coach Chet Reeder's squad was paced by 6-6 senior Caleb Siemer with 20 points while senior guard Brendan Niebrugge scored all 17 of his points during a second quarter splurge of points for the now 26-7 team that advanced to take on Lawrenceville Friday night.

Junior Joey Niebrugge and 6-3 senior James Niebrugge added six points each along with three points from junior Garrett Gaddis.

Alton Marquette (21-13) and first season head coach Cody Best bow out of the state tournament after a disastrous first 16 minutes where they trailed 34-5.

Senior guard Parker Macias led the Explorers with eight points while senior guard Dre Davis added seven.

The Wooden Shoes will face Lawrenceville on Friday night at Newton.
