CARBONDALE 1A SUPERSECTIONAL
AT ELIZABETHTOWN HARDIN COUNTY
MOUNDS MERIDIAN 64, SESSER-VALIER
50
The Bobcats exacted some revenge from a loss earlier in the year as they pulled away late in the game for a win over Sesser-Valier to advance to the sectional final.

Meridian got 18-points from senior Caylen Ballard while getting 14-points Davarae Edmonds in the 14-point win

David Davis added 11-points while DJ Weldon chipped in 10 in the victory.

Meridian led 45-38 heading in to the fourth quarter but they never let the Red Devils back in the contest as S-V saw its season end at 22-10.

The Bobcats improved to 24-7 on the strength of a 13-of-16 performance from the foul line.

Sesser-Valier had topped the Bobcats 75-62 back on January 24 at the Benton Invitational Tournament but Meridian was up for the challenge and advanced to play the winner of the Cairo-Hardin County contest scheduled for Wednesday night.

However that game is in jeopardy because of the winter weather expected to hit the area on Wednesday afternoon.
