Four Division I college recruits, including one repeat selection and one unanimous selection, help make up the first five on The Associated Press 2006-07 Class A boys basketball all-state teams, released Monday.

Mike Tisdale of Riverton is a repeat first-team selection. The 7-foot University of Illinois recruit missed seven games with a broken finger but came back to lead Riverton to a regional title. He averaged about 28 points, 14 rebounds, and five blocks on the season.
Robert Kreps of Maroa-Forsyth was the only player listed as first team on each of 25 ballots cast by a statewide panel of sportswriters, broadcasters and select Internet outlets. The 5-foot-11 Illinois-Chicago signee, a third-team honoree as a junior, was averaging about 25 points, 5 rebounds and five assists in leading Maroa-Forsyth into tonight’s (Tuesday) Normal Supersectional.

However, it was widely reported Monday that Kreps would not play in the supersectional game after undergoing an emergency appendectomy on Sunday.

Two other first-team members also play for Sweet 16 teams.

Carlton Fay of Granville Putnam County was averaging about 24 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks heading into the DeKalb Supersectional. The 6-foot-8 Southern Illinois recruit, second-team as a junior, joined Kreps as players named on all 25 ballots.

Lucas O’Rear and Nashville were undefeated through 32 games. O’Rear, a 6-foot-7 Northern Iowa recruit, as well as a pro baseball prospect, was averaging about 19 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks heading into the Carbondale Supersectional.

"I think that he has just gotten better in his whole game this season," said Nashville head coach Darin Lee. "The other parts of his game like his defense, his rebounding and his passing, have improved this year. He is shooting 76 percent from the field which makes him difficult to guard. His passing is been very good and teams have a tough choice on how to defend him."

- the little things like his defense, his rebounding, his shooting percentage - he very rarely passing has gotten better and he is difficult to guard. Tough choices ," said Nashville head coach Darin Lee. "

Rounding out the first five is unsigned Vandalia senior Eric Hobbie, the IHSA King of the Hill Dunk champion as a junior. He averaged about 23 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks on the season. Hobie was honorable mention last season.

Like Fay and O’Rear, Hobbie surpassed 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds.

"He had a tremendous year and career and his numbers spoke for themselves," said Vandalia head coach Kevin Jackson. "He improved and is a complete player. He worked hard to get to this point in his career."

The second team also was made up exclusively of seniors.

Josh Babb of Mount Sterling Brown County, Griffan Callahan of Seneca, Brandon Dunson of Bloomington Central Catholic, Travis Rosenkranz of Macon Meridian and Jason Runde of Teutopolis were the five second-highest vote getters.

Every class is represented on the third team.

Winnetka North Shore Country Day freshman Jereme Richmond, Seneca sophomore Seth Evans, Monmouth-Roseville junior Ben Gillen, Bismarck-Henning junior Trey McCorkle, and Chicago North Lawndale senior Cordero Smith comprised the players who were Nos. 11 through 15 in total voter points.
